Flora Europaea the original Linnean specimen perennial, G. 2n=16, diploid mesic forest-steppe species, also encountered in the lower nemoral continental Eurasian Quercetalia pubescentis, Molinio-Arrhenatheretea R4160-4163, R38 habitats     A typical forest-steppe species which grows in meadow-steppe grasslands and woodlands as well.
